Large antique baluster-shaped candlestick in mercury glass, resting on a wide circular base. Made of blown glass and then silvered on the inside using the mercury glass technique, it has a beautiful mirror-like effect, now diminished by time. The internal silvering shows areas of wear, variation in tone, and partial transparency, characteristic of 19th-century pieces. The piece retains an authentic and decorative patina, typical of candlesticks and mantelpiece decorations from the second half of the 19th century.
