Large handwritten butchery ledger with blue drop caps - 404 pages

0,00 € Déjà adopté

This large butcher's ledger contains hundreds of pages of handwritten accounts detailing customers' purchases: chops, steaks, pot-au-feu, sausages, andouillettes, and other cuts of meat, with their weights and prices. The ink entries spread across columned pages topped with the words "Doit Avoir" in Gothic script. On the edge, beautiful blue alphabetical tabs with ornate letters made it possible to find each account. A black cloth binding with a red label completes this set, as interesting for the history of commerce as for the charm of its typographic details.
