Large advertising sign "Tobacco / Le Matin"

Large enameled metal advertising sign intended for tobacconists, combining the legally required wording "TOBACCO - Smoking Accessories" and an advertisement for the newspaper Le Matin . The two-tiered design, with shaded raised lettering and the distinctive Gothic typography of the title, is typical of signs distributed to tobacconists between the two World Wars. The printer's mark at the bottom ("Imp. Révillon, Paris" and the Neuhaus imprint) confirms an early French manufacture. The sign shows some wear and tear consistent with outdoor exposure, but retains a strong visual impact and a beautiful patina.
