Art Nouveau lithograph from the Second Volume of the Album de la Décoration , published by A. Calavas in Paris and printed by R. Engelmann . This panel, signed Gaston Gérard, depicts a young woman picking bunches of grapes, draped in flowing fabric, in a hazy, light-filled setting.
The whole evokes the allegories of the seasons so dear to the Belle Époque: here, Autumn, treated with gentleness and sensuality in the spirit of Mucha or Grasset. Gérard's style is distinguished by its subtle gradations and warm tones, perfect for decorative lithography.
