Antique white earthenware advertising jar bearing the emblematic inscriptions of the Grey-Poupon company, founded in 1777 in Dijon . The black, engraved-style ornamentation evokes the medals won at the 1900 Paris Exposition and the prestige of this traditional mustard. The jar indicates the mandatory use of a cap and displays a coat of arms on the reverse. Marked under the base: Digoin Sarreguemines – France. A very fine example of a utilitarian container transformed into a collector's item.
