Rare and superb blown-glass apothecary jars with their original stoppers, entirely hand-decorated in the 19th century. Their polychrome cartouches with Gothic lettering, surrounded by gilt scrolls and leafy motifs, embody the refined aesthetic of French apothecaries from the second half of the 19th century. The decoration is cold-enameled, with red, green and gold tones on an original crackled white background, giving each piece a visual presence close to a work of art. This type of jar, intended to store officinal substances such as Aloe or Saffron (Croci off.), was produced only in small quantities and with high decorative value. Their complete preservation with matching lids makes them a rare ensemble, highly sought after for a collection or a cabinet of curiosities.
