Beautiful set of six zoomorphic nesting cups/ashtrays depicting stylized hedgehogs, made of patinated bronze. Each element fits into the previous one to form a compact sculpture evoking a hedgehog curled up on itself. This type of creation is clearly part of the modernist aesthetic of the 1950s-1960s, very close to Walter Bosse's productions and the universe of Viennese workshops of the period. The clean lines, the jagged points and the antique brown patina give the whole a very successful decorative presence, between design object and animal sculpture.
