A beautiful lithograph from the Letters and Signs series (2nd series) published by H. Vial around 1900. This plate brings together several sign designs for businesses during the Belle Époque: a pocket watch for a Watchmaker-Jeweler , a horseshoe for a Blacksmith , a red boot for Shoes , a gilded lyre for Pianos & Music , and an ornate panel for Embroidery and Lace . The collection perfectly illustrates the refinement of graphic arts applied to advertising and signage at the end of the 19th century.
