A puzzle presented in its small illustrated box entitled "The Deliverance." The illustration shows a medieval knight facing a heart placed on a pedestal, a symbolic scene evoking the idea of liberation or a trial to be overcome. The puzzle itself consists of a wooden heart pierced with several holes, through which a string ending in a bead passes. The principle is to manipulate the string and the bead to free the heart from its loop by following a series of passages through the different holes, as explained in the original instructions. This type of pocket puzzle, combining dexterity and logic, was very popular during the Belle Époque and often sold in small illustrated boxes intended for puzzle enthusiasts.
