A fun little illustrated puzzle entitled "The Four Vagabonds," published in Paris by JFJ at the end of the 19th or very beginning of the 20th century. This type of puzzle was among the many illusion and observation games very popular during the Belle Époque.
The principle is to assemble the four cards depicting caricatured vagrants . Each character appears different, but by assembling them correctly , they form a single, complete character , as shown on the solution card. This type of game relied on a fun visual effect and was often featured in parlor games, recreational publications, or as small curiosities for children and adults.
