An interesting little set consisting of two slender antique wire brushes, probably intended for the maintenance and cleaning of writing accessories. Mounted on a small threaded rod, they could be screwed into a specific handle or holder, and were likely used to clean the inside of a reservoir pen holder, an ink channel, or a metal nib. The very fine metal bristles form a small, dense, and flexible tuft, with a painted metal retaining ring. A discreet but typical accessory from the world of antique writing supplies, now uncommon.
