This beautiful religious instruction notebook, bound in green half-morocco with gilt spine, compiles lessons written between 1878 and 1880 by two successive students, Antoine Delphaye and an earlier classmate, under the supervision of Abbés Guillet and Aubert. The content, highly coherent in its pedagogy, covers a variety of theological themes: the nature of the sacraments, forms of basilicas, Christian practices, morality, and liturgy. The work stands out for its neat calligraphy, carefully written titles, structured chapters, and even a small diabolical illustration at the end of a page — a reflection of Catholic educational traditions during the French Third Republic. Altogether, it forms a valuable testimony to religious instruction within 19th-century schooling.
