Richly calligraphed, the document contains numerous technical sections, composition tables, tactical instructions, and fold-out diagrams, including a map pasted at the end of the volume. This synthesis, produced at a pivotal time between horse-drawn artillery and modern artillery, offers a rare testimony on French military doctrine before 1914.
