Antique pattern sheet for engravers, numbered 3 and bearing the stamp of F. Kling, 17 Quai des Pêcheurs in Strasbourg. It brings together several ornaments intended for the composition of printed or engraved works: rocaille cartouches, floral framing, rich drapery, a quill resting on an open book, and botanical motifs. The large vignette on the left, depicting an allegory of Strasbourg accompanied by office and engraving supplies, gives this sheet a particularly attractive Alsatian identity.
