An old plate of commercial designs titled "Motifs for the Use of Lithographers," composed and engraved by Th. Siegfried. Printed in Strasbourg by lithographers Grieshaber & Weiss and offered for sale by F. Kling, Quai des Pêcheurs n° 17, it features compositions intended for a watchmaker-jeweler in Colmar, a pastry chef in Strasbourg, a hotel-restaurant at a train station, as well as personalized letterheads. Its large central monogram and its cartouches with flowers, ribbons, and rinceaux illustrate the refinement of the designs offered to graphic arts professionals in the mid-19th century.
