Plate from the House Painter's Library , presenting the capital alphabet of the "Monumental Imitation of Engraving" model. Created by A. Botzum and published by E. Thézard Fils in Dourdan around 1900, this composition illustrates the typographic expertise of the interior painters of the Belle Époque. The letters, drawn with a ruler and brush, imitate the lapidary engraving used on pediments and public monuments. A highly precise study document, both a teaching tool and a decorative work.
