An old advertising booklet for the French cigarette brands "Week-End" (Virginia tobacco) and "Balto" (American flavor), distributed by the Caisse Autonome d'Amortissement (Autonomous Amortization Fund). The colorful illustration, signed Fenet (Paris), shows a young woman in a red dress riding a donkey laden with cigarette packs—a humorous graphic typical of the 1930s. The reverse side features the "Balto" brand with a rider and the famous iconic ship. The inside lists the different tobacco varieties (Orient, Virginia, Maryland, etc.) with period slogans. A fine example of pre-war French tobacco advertising in the Art Deco illustrated style.
