With a name evoking the famous Indian diamond, this two-player board game comes in a beautifully illustrated box featuring an Orientalist scene very much in vogue during the Belle Époque. The scene depicts an oriental sovereign surrounded by courtiers, while the game board occupies the center of the composition. The game is played by two players: they must arrange their red and blue triangles on a board divided into 64 triangular spaces, according to strategic placement rules. Each player has 24 pieces of their color, which they take turns inserting to form patterns. Both playful and decorative, this game reflects the colonial imagination and graphic exoticism of late 19th-century games.
