Blue and green lithographed cardboard box, signed Conté in Paris , a renowned manufacturer of pencils, charcoals and chalks since the late 18th century. The label bears the inscription "Grand Prix Exposition Universelle Paris 1900" and the designation "Indelible Industrial Chalk" , intended for use in woodworking, stonework, leatherwork or textiles.
The set retains several original chalks (red and black), perfectly typical of industrial and workshop supplies from the Belle Époque. A fine example of utilitarian packaging with bold design, combining Art Nouveau typography and colorful bands.
