A superb antique fairground gaming wheel, once mounted on a table axle for fairs, cafes, and local festivals. Made entirely of hand-painted, curved metal, it features large playing card symbols (spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs, stars, anchors) as well as several painted flags (France, the United Kingdom, and the United States). Despite the absence of its central axle and some of the peripheral pins, it retains a remarkable original patina: chipped paint, cracks, and signs of wear make it a decorative piece full of character. This model evokes the famous fairground wheels, the popular ancestors of modern roulette.
