A fun paper game from the late 19th century, "The Four Vagabonds" involves assembling a single character from four grotesque figures printed on cardboard. Each half of the vagabond, drawn in a caricature style, can be combined with another to form a complete character. The aim is to recreate the original figure or to imagine new, absurd characters by mixing the pieces. The game was sold in a simple envelope, with printed instructions. It's a fine example of the visual humor popular at the time, influenced by newspaper caricatures.
