A superb deck of playing cards with Latin suits, published by Dal Negro , the renowned card maker from Treviso , Italy, still active today. This 40-card deck features traditional Venetian iconography (swords, cups, coins, batons) typical of Italian playing cards. The cards are printed on thick card with a geometric backing and a crackled effect imitating the patina of leather or parchment. The style is reminiscent of Piacenza or Naples decks, with figures mounted on horseback and heraldic emblems. The printed inscription "T. Dal Negro – Treviso" and the Italian revenue stamp date this deck to around the 1960s . Some fortune tellers used this game with Latin suits to read cards.
