The inscription, in Dutch, reads "Voor elk soort schoenwerk" (for all types of shoes) and boasts a product that "onderhoudt, overledert en maakt het waterdicht" – in other words: conditions, nourishes, and waterproofs the leather. The design is typical of the 1930s and 40s, with a striking contrast of gold, navy blue, and aqua. Manufactured by The Magic Polish Co Ltd in Leicester, England, this tin is a testament to the international trade and leather care products of that era.
