Antique typographic stencil in cut zinc, used for marking crates and barrels of wine from the Côtes de Bordeaux Saint-Macaire appellation. This historic AOC in southern Gironde produced, in particular, sweet white wines shipped throughout Europe from the 19th century onwards. This stencil was used in wine cellars to identify shipments before rail or sea transport. Superb gray and green patina resulting from the natural oxidation of the zinc, with traces of use revealing its authenticity.
