An exceptional English box in rigid cardboard, signed Perry & Co and Josiah Mason, two iconic manufacturers from Birmingham, the world capital of the metal pen nibs in the 19th century. The label, richly polychrome on a blue and red background, features a pen displayed under a mica window, a rare detail intended to enhance the pen's appeal. It also bears the patent dated June 1906 and the "Made in England" marking, intended for the French market. A masterpiece of Victorian design, both technical and decorative.
