Rare enameled association plaque awarded to an honorary member of the Association of Commercial Travelers of Seine-Inférieure, in Rouen. It features a depiction of Mercury, god of commerce and travelers, accompanied by the caduceus, the traditional emblem of commercial professions, in the center. The mention of Seine-Inférieure allows for a dating prior to the official change of the department to Seine-Maritime in 1955. The enameller's signature "FEREZ, 42 rue de Belleville" is still visible in the lower part.
✦ Provenance: Rouen, France
✦ Estimated period: Circa 1900

A particularly interesting piece for collectors of association plaques, administrative enamels, or objects related to commercial travelers and Norman heritage.
