Antique handcrafted stencil cut from heavy cardboard, depicting an elegant rosette with a radial composition inspired by classical architecture and stained-glass or oculus motifs. The design, structured around a radiating center, alternates solid and openwork shapes with great precision, creating a highly decorative graphic effect. Used in workshops to apply painted or patinated designs to walls, ceilings, or decorative elements, this type of stencil allowed for the rapid and consistent reproduction of designs. The visible traces of pigment and darkened areas attest to its actual use, reinforcing its authenticity and its character as a working tool. The quality of the cut and the balance of the motif make it today a piece that is as aesthetically pleasing as it is evocative of the craftsmanship of Belle Époque decorating workshops.
