Its very elegant black decoration combines typographic characters and advertising calligraphy in the spirit of the Belle Époque. This type of container was intended for dental powders or pastes prepared by dental surgeons before the widespread use of industrial toothpaste in tubes. The existence of several specimens preserved at the Antoine Vivenel Museum confirms its historical character and its documented origin from Compiègne.
