Authentic antique prosthetic eye made of blown glass and then hand-enameled to realistically reproduce the iris and sclera's blood vessels. Each piece features a finely painted iris in natural shades—brown, gray, or green—as well as delicate red veins applied with enamel to mimic the appearance of a human eye. These prostheses were handcrafted by specialist ocularists, usually in Central or Western Europe, and individually fitted for patients. The slightly asymmetrical shapes and domed profile correspond to models used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Each example exhibits natural variations in iris color and pattern, a testament to the artisan's handcraft. (Sold individually)
