A rare wooden apothecary's price list box with rotating sliders, designed for pharmacists to accurately calculate product prices in the late 19th or early 20th century. Each sliding slide allowed for the alignment of data on the product's nature (medicines, containers, active ingredients) and its price according to weight or quantity. Substances now regulated, such as morphine, heroin, and cocaine, are still listed , evidence of their perfectly legal medical use at the time. The lid contains a printed general price list and a roll of note paper, still in place. This ingenious system perfectly embodies the famous "apothecary's accounts," where rigor and meticulousness were essential in calculating both doses and prices. It features metal side handles, a front latch closure, and the original mechanism is still functional.
