Superb antique advertising box in illustrated cardboard for the soap "Bouquet Indien" from Gellé Frères, a famous Parisian perfumer-chemist established on Avenue de l'Opéra at the end of the 19th century. The chromolithographed decoration presents a particularly evocative orientalist scene, with caparisoned elephants, exotic characters, and felines in lush vegetation. The interior still contains its original promotional label for "Pâte Dentifrice Glycérine" (Glycerine Toothpaste). A refined and very decorative box, emblematic of the golden age of perfumed advertising and the orientalist graphics of the Belle Époque.
