Charming lithographed tin advertising box for Drouin biscuits in Avignon, featuring an elegant young woman in a typical Art Nouveau setting. The inscription "Le Cake-Walk" refers to a dance that became extremely popular in Europe after the 1900 Universal Exhibition, providing an excellent clue for dating. The sides feature different specialties from Drouin: "Le Cake-Walk", "Le Délice", and "Le Friquet". The decoration is signed by Imprimerie Édouard Toulouse in Paris, a printer active in the early 20th century. An attractive advertising model, representative of the golden age of French regional biscuit factories.
