Rare box of "Dufresne - Paris" chocolates, circa 1910

A rare round lithographed tin box with a refined design typical of the Belle Époque. The lid features a central midnight blue medallion bearing the inscription "Dufresne – Paris," surrounded by a rich ornamental border of rose garlands, ribbons, and gilt highlights. The overall effect, of great graphic finesse, is characteristic of confectionery or chocolate packaging intended for a bourgeois clientele, designed as gift boxes to be kept after use. A very fine example of early 20th-century Parisian decorative aesthetics.
