A rare, round, lithographed tin for a curious Vaseline cream with beef marrow, produced by Vibert Frères in Paris. The decoration is exquisitely delicate: a peaceful cow in a pastoral landscape, framed by floral garlands and Art Nouveau ornaments. The rim of the tin features decorative motifs typical of the 1900s. The advertising on the reverse also mentions the "Pontius Pilate" soap, with a humorous and evocative slogan. A charming piece highly representative of the beginnings of French industrial cosmetics.
