Rare "Bouci-Boula" game - blown glass puzzle

Rare small antique patience game entitled "Bouci-Boula" , presented in its original cardboard box bearing the printed label with the rules of the game: "You have to put the Whites on one side, the Reds on the other" .

This tiny puzzle consists of a small blown-glass object containing tiny colored marbles. With slight movements and tilts, the player must separate the light marbles from the dark ones in each of the two cavities. Simple in appearance but tricky to master, this type of patience game was one of those ingenious and addictive little pastimes that were very popular at the beginning of the 20th century.

Halfway between an object of curiosity, a puzzle and a game of skill , the Bouci-Boula perfectly illustrates these miniature amusements that were manipulated on a table or in the hand to take on a playful and hypnotic challenge.
