A rare, complete, and still sealed container of "Guimet Ultramarine" powder pigment, packaged in its original blue paper box with a printed label. This synthetic blue, developed by Jean-Baptiste Guimet in the 19th century, was prized for its stability and vibrancy, replacing the expensive natural ultramarine extracted from lapis lazuli. The label mentions several awards received at Universal Expositions between 1851 and 1889, allowing us to date this packaging to around 1900. A true relic of the history of pigments and industrial know-how.

✦ Estimated period: Circa 1900
