Antique Grey mustard jar in white earthenware, in a rare XXL version whose generous size gives it a striking presence. Its black decoration features the coat of arms of Dijon, topped by a mural crown and surrounded by bunches of grapes, vine leaves, and scrollwork. A long banner ending in tassels bears the inscriptions “House founded in 1777” and “10 medals of honor.” Beneath the name GREY is the wording “Aᵗᵉ Poupon Sʳ à Dijon,” meaning Auguste Poupon, successor in Dijon, recalling the takeover of the Grey firm while retaining its trade name. The underside retains a partially legible Creil and Montereau mark, accompanied by the number 75.
