A pharmacy advertising corkscrew dating from the late 19th or very early 20th century, combining a steel helical worm with a cylindrical handle covered in printed paper. This type of promotional item was distributed by pharmaceutical companies to establish their products as a staple in everyday use. The inscriptions "Quininium Labarraque – Convalescence, Anemia, Fevers" and "Guyot Tar – Colds, Bronchitis, Catarrh" perfectly illustrate the popular pharmacopoeia of the Belle Époque. A hybrid object, combining household utility and medical advertising, it is preserved with its original labels and a patina consistent with its use.
