This vignette, entitled "The Fugitive Dead Man," depicts a caricature of Adolf Hitler as a panicked skeleton fleeing with a flag emblazoned with a swastika. A typical example of dark humor from the Liberation period, it reflects French anti-Nazi propaganda and the spirit of popular mockery prevalent in the post-war era.
