Produced between 1953 and 1954, this album brings together 47 sketches executed on site in the galleries of the Musée du Louvre and the Musée Bourdelle in Paris. Each sheet is drawn in graphite, sometimes with additional highlights, notes, and precise dates (1953–1954). The author, likely an art school or Beaux-Arts student, studies sculpted models: academic bodies, classical busts, religious and antique figures. The ensemble is a direct record of mid-20th-century drawing practice from the model, in a careful, attentive style, sometimes highly accomplished. Original period spiral binding, with traces of handling.
