Superb illustrated plate from the "Attributes au pochoir" series published by Raymond Bilard in Le Mans around 1900. This sign design for the Grand Hôtel des Sports embodies the typographic style of Belle Époque posters and facades: oblique lettering with drop shadows, a refined tricolor palette, and sporting ornamentation (rackets, croquet, rowing, billiards). A rare example of advertising design applied to hotels and elegant leisure activities at the end of the 19th century.
