This plaque is part of the famous "Tableau-Maxime" series published by Établissements Robert & Cie in Paris. These panels, with their moral and educational purpose, were intended for workshops, shops, offices, schools, or factories to encourage discipline, punctuality, work, and good conduct. The printed mention "Tableau-Maxime n°6 (Déposé)" precisely identifies the model within a documented series, several numbers of which are known today. The copies were marketed in the years 1910-1925 with various maxims intended to be hung in places receiving staff or the public.

✦ Provenance: Établissements Robert & Cie, Paris
✦ Estimated period: Circa 1910-1925
✦ Dimensions: approx. 19 x 15.5 cm
✦ Material: strong cardboard, original textile cord

With its elegant white typographic decor on a deep blue background and its message inspired by the republican morality of the early 20th century, this plaque is a typical decorative testimony of French pre-war workshops, offices, and shops. A piece full of character to complete the decor of a tavern, old workshop, or a collection dedicated to advertising and trade objects.
