An elegant, dual-function tabletop viewer combining stereoscopy and a photographic magnifier. Crafted from marquetry mahogany and light walnut, it features two turned wooden eyepieces for 8.5×17 cm stereoscopic views, surmounted by a large circular lens for viewing simple portraits. The corners are adorned with nickel-plated metal decorations, and the feet are reinforced with small, openwork feet. The heart-shaped cutout stand and the angled opening mechanism attest to the care taken in its construction. Note: a small chip on the right edge of the large lens, which does not impede viewing.
