An elegant Art Nouveau print from the Second Volume of the Album de la Décoration , published by A. Calavas in Paris and printed by R. Engelmann . Signed Bek-Gran , it presents four allegorical friezes dedicated to the seasons: spring with its birds among the lilies, summer symbolized by swans and poppies, dark winter with its raven among the acorns, and autumn radiant with bunches of grapes and migratory birds.
The composition, of exceptional refinement, highlights the supple line and chromatic harmonies dear to French Art Nouveau, recalling the decorative motifs of the Sèvres Manufactory or contemporary wallpapers.
