Typographic plate from A. Botzum's Library of the Building Painter , published by E. Thézard Fils in Dourdan. This model presents an "antique" alphabet with straight serifs, whose letters are raised and shaded to simulate a relief effect. Against a golden beige background, the black-blue contrast of the shadows creates a three-dimensional effect typical of alphabets painted on facades and shop windows at the end of the 19th century. A piece that is both educational and decorative, bearing witness to the skill of sign painters.
