A curious little game of illusion and observation entitled "A Sage in the Clouds," published in Paris by JFJ at the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century. This type of entertainment belonged to the recreational games very popular during the Belle Époque, combining observation and visual illusion.

The principle is simple: the four cards illustrated with clouds initially appear to represent simple vaporous formations. But by assembling them correctly , they reveal the portrait of the wise Socrates . The envelope presents the puzzle and invites you to reconstruct the image, while a solution card shows the correct arrangement of the elements.

✦ Dimensions: approx. 11 × 7cm
✦ Condition: good overall condition; envelope slightly damaged (creases and small tears)
