A beautiful Art Nouveau plate from the second volume of the Album de la Décoration , published by A. Calavas in Paris and printed by R. Engelmann . This medallion, signed by Gaston Gérard, depicts a woman's face surrounded by water lilies and foliage, an allegorical figure of nature in full bloom. The still water, the sinuous stems, and the gentle gaze reflect the Symbolist influence and refined taste of the Belle Époque.
Originally conceived as a decorative model for poster artists, engravers and ceramists , this lithograph illustrated the link between art and nature, so dear to the creators of 1900.
